The Cheat

In "The Cheat," Tallulah Bankhead stars as Elsa Carlyle, a glamorous and impulsive gambler who gets entangled in a web of infidelity and deceit with Hardy Livingstone (Irving Pichel), a wealthy Casanova with a dark past. As Elsa's financial troubles spiral out of control, she is seduced by Harding's charms, but her dire situation also attracts the attention of her husband Jeffrey (Harvey Stephens). When things take a deadly turn, Bankhead delivers a powerful performance as Elsa, ultimately stopping a trial and exposing Hardy's true nature.
