The Sacrifice

In 1953, the Korean War is reaching its final stage as the People's Volunteer Army launches its last large-scale campaign in Kumsong, a wooden bridge must be repaired to bring firepower to the front lines amidst continuous bombing from enemy planes and limited supplies. Zhang Yi stars as second lieutenant Zhang Fei (张飞排长) who assumes command of his company after being demoted by Wu Jing's character Guan Lei, while Vision Wei plays lieutenant Yan Rui (闫瑞连长) responsible for fixing the bridge, amidst a backdrop of military strategy and personal sacrifice. The film features three perspectives: "Soldiers", "Adversaries", and "Gunners", each presenting a unique view on the heroic struggle to bring a dynasty of dictators to power.
