No News from God

Lola Nevado (Victoria Abril), a nightclub singer in Heaven, is sent to Earth to save the soul of Spanish boxer Manny (Demián Bichir). She appears as his former wife, trying to win him back and helping him reconcile with his mother. Meanwhile, Carmen Ramos (Penélope Cruz), a waitress in Hell, is sent by Jack Davenport (Gael García Bernal) to get Manny into the ring again. The two women form an unlikely alliance, sympathizing with Manny's struggles and eventually robbing a hypermarket together to save him from his creditors.
