Alan Desland (Rupert Frazer), an English antique dealer, falls deeply in love with Karin Foster (Meg Tilly), a mysterious German-born secretary he hires on a business trip to Copenhagen. As they marry and start a life together, Alan discovers a darker side to Karin's past, including strange behavior and apparitions that hint at a supernatural reality.
