In 2019, Kwan Chiu (Gordon Lam) brokers a deal between Taiwanese turtle smuggler Pickle and local triad leader Big Mouth Tai (Ben Yuen). Later, Chook (Michael Ning), Tai's top follower, kills Pickle, and Mani (Bipin Karma), the young South Asian thief who took shelter in Kwan's home, abducts by Tai's underlings. As Kwan fights off henchmen to rescue Mani, he discovers a new lease of life through their friendship, bonding over Kwan's past military service and Mani's struggles with debt.
