The Lost Daughter

The Lost Daughter is a psychological drama film written and directed by Maggie Gyllenhaal, based on Elena Ferrante's 2006 novel of the same title. The movie follows middle-aged university professor Leda Caruso (Olivia Colman) as she meets Nina, a young mother, while on holiday in Greece. Through their interactions, Leda confronts secrets from her past, particularly her experience as a young mother to two daughters who she abandoned for three years.
