In 1910 Manhattan, a bitter spinster heiress, Victoria Van Brett, lives an isolated life with her sister Caroline in a palatial mansion built by their late industrialist father. Her domineering urges are triggered when her half-brother Rip brings home a new bride, Anne Darrow, and she resents the young woman's influence over her family. As tensions escalate, Victoria unleashes a sinister game of cat and mouse, luring her enemies into a soundproof vault where she will exact her revenge.
