In the 2014 drama film Xenia, two Albanian Greek-born brothers, Dany (Kostas Nikouli) and Odysseas (Nikos Gelia), embark on a road trip from Athens to Thessaloniki in search of their estranged Greek father. Facing deportation threats and an alcoholic mother's recent passing, the 15-year-old gay Dany and his 18-year-old brother are driven by the possibility of gaining Greek citizenship and the chance to find a sense of belonging. Along the way, they are fans of Italian singer Patty Pravo, who makes a cameo appearance, singing one of her songs in a TV talent contest that Odysseas plans to enter.
