Trainspotting

Trainspotting is a 1996 British black comedy drama film directed by Danny Boyle, set in mid-1990s Edinburgh and following the antics of a group of heroin addicts struggling to survive, maybe get laid, and take each day as it comes. The film portrays their struggles with gritty authenticity, despite its unlikable characters, strong performances from Ewan McGregor, Ewen Bremner, and Robert Carlyle, and a darker comedic tone that tackles themes of drug addiction, urban poverty, and social realism.
