Star Maps

Star Maps is a 1997 American drama film about an 18-year-old Latino youth who returns to Los Angeles after five years in Mexico to pursue his dream of becoming a movie star. After being urged by his father, a pimp, to hustle as a way to meet Hollywood insiders, the young man hooks up with the producer of the popular daytime soap opera Carmel County, played by Douglas Spain, whose overbearing father and mentally unstable mother threaten to get in the way of his dreams.
