Skies of Lebanon

Under Alice's Sky, or Skies of Lebanon, is a 2020 French drama film directed by Chloé Mazlo, based on her own family story and inspired by her grandmother's experiences as an officer in Beirut in the 1950s. The film follows young Alice who falls in love with Joseph, a quirky astrophysicist intent on sending the first Lebanese national into space. When the civil war threatens their idyllic life together, they must confront the realities of their paradise lost. Alba Rohrwacher plays Alice Kamar, Wajdi Mouawad plays Joseph Kamar, and is supported by Isabelle Zighondi as Mona Kamar, Mariah Tannoury as Mimi, Jade Breidi as Tony.
