Michel Piccoli stars as Robert Hansen, a calm and calculating real estate developer whose life is turned upside down when his wife Catherine (Claudia Cardinale) cheats on him with his business partner Jacques Noblet. In response to this betrayal, Hansen discovers he can use their affair to his advantage by manipulating them both through bribery and blackmail.
