Joe Maddison's War

In the midst of World War II, shipyard worker and veteran Joe Maddison finds himself grappling with feelings of emasculation as he navigates a tumultuous home life, amidst the Blitz-ravaged streets of Newcastle upon Tyne. When his wife leaves him for a younger man, Joe musters the courage to join the Home Guard, a desperate bid for purpose in a war-torn world that's also witnessing the loss of his own son and son-in-law serving overseas.
