She meets Josh (Dean Waite), who convinces her to meet him for a date, leading to her disappearance in January 2007. After her best friend Amy Herman (Amber Perkins) reports Megan missing, an unidentified narrator assembles web-chat recordings and news reports into a linear narrative of the weeks surrounding their disappearances.
