In 1963 France, Anne is a promising university student in Angoulême who discovers she is pregnant after experiencing stomach cramps. With abortion illegal and dangerous, Anne embarks on a perilous journey to secure an abortion, confronting shame, pain, and desperation along the way. She faces rejection from friends, a reluctant "boyfriend," and even attempts self-abortion with a knitting needle, all while fighting against a system that seeks to silence her.
