Another Shore

A young Irishman Gulliver Shields (Robert Beatty) dreams of living in Rarotonga after a small pension from his job as an Irish customs official. He spends his days sitting on a park bench hoping for help from a wealthy elderly person, and later meets Jennifer, an Anglo-Irish woman, who becomes intrigued by his plan to travel to the South Seas. As he waits for a car accident on Grafton Street, he is joined by a refined Scottish gentleman Alastair McNeil (Stanley Holloway) and eventually meets a third man who shares his dream of escaping to Tahiti.
