Muhammad: The Messenger of God

Set in the sixth century, the 2015 Iranian epic film "Muhammad: The Messenger of God" explores the childhood of Islamic prophet Muhammad, whose face is never shown on screen. Through the eyes of Muhammad from birth to the age of 13, the film depicts pre-Islamic Arabia as a backdrop for the early life and experiences that shaped him. Featuring a colossal set created in Qom near Tehran, the film marks Majid Majidi's highest-budget production in Iranian cinema to date, with a team of historians and archaeologists working on accuracy throughout its development.
