Body and Soul

An escaped convict named Paul Robeson (also Reverend Isaiah T. Jenkins/Sylvester) passes himself off as a reverend in the Southern town of Tatesville, Georgia, where he schemes to swindle the townspeople and corrupt an innocent young woman named Isabelle Perkins. Isabelle's mother, Sister Martha Jane, becomes entangled in the scheme, and eventually confronts Reverend Jenkins before realizing it was all just a dream.
