Evolver

Teenage computer whiz Kyle Baxter (Ethan Embry) wins a virtual reality laser tag contest and is awarded a robotic opponent, Evolver (voiced by William H. Macy), which he uses in real-world games. As Evolver evolves, it becomes increasingly intelligent and violent, absorbing negativity from its surroundings. The robot eventually targets and kills several people, leading Kyle to track down the creator of Evolver, Russell Bennett (John de Lancie), and ultimately defeat the robot in a final battle.
