The Cement Garden

In late 1970s England, Jack (Andrew Robertson) is a narcissistic 15-year-old boy living in a post-war era prefab house with his family, including his annoying 17-year-old sister Julie (Charlotte Gainsbourg), her 13-year-old sister Sue (Alice Coulthard), and 6-year-old brother Tom. After their father's sudden death from a heart attack, the siblings must take control of the household when their mother becomes bedridden with an illness. As they navigate this new reality, Jack develops an incestuous crush on Julie, while also forming a romantic connection with her. The children become increasingly withdrawn and isolated as they try to keep their family's dark secrets hidden from authorities.
