Jack Lemmon plays Henry Drummond in this 1999 TV film adaptation of the 1955 play about a science teacher accused of teaching evolution, while George C. Scott stars as Matthew Harrison Brady in what would be his final film role. The story is based on the 1925 Scopes "Monkey" Trial, adapted by the playwright David Schmidt from a screenplay by John Goldsmith.
