The Wackiest Ship in the Army

In 1943, U.S. Navy Lieutenant Rip Crandall is hoodwinked into taking command of a sailing ship, the USS Echo, a unique vessel in the Pacific Fleet that's part of the Army at sea. The crew, comprised of misfits who don't know a jib from a jigger, are disguised as native trading vessels to complete a top-secret mission to deliver a coastwatcher to a location only a shallow-draft vessel can reach. As Crandall and his crew navigate treacherous waters patrolled by the Japanese fleet, they must overcome their differences and work together to survive and save hundreds of allied lives.
