Wolfen

A New York City cop and criminal psychologist partner to investigate a series of gruesome murders that seem to be the work of feral animals, but uncover a sinister connection to an old legend about wolf spirits. Detective Dewey Wilson, played by Albert Finney, follows leads that take him from the streets of Manhattan to the South Bronx, where he encounters Whittington, a coroner who discovers non-human hairs on the victims' bodies, and Ferguson, a zoologist who identifies the hairs as belonging to an unknown subspecies of wolf. As Wilson delves deeper into the case, he learns that the killings are linked to an indigenous legend about "Wolfen", the wolf spirit, which claims extraordinary abilities and is determined to protect its hunting ground from human encroachment.
