In the powerful true story of "Walkout," a group of East Los Angeles high school students, led by the determined Paula Crisostomo, band together to challenge the injustices of their public education system. Inspired by their Chicano teacher Sal Castro and fueled by their desire for change, they stage a peaceful walkout to protest the mistreatment of Hispanic students - including unfair punishments, discriminatory practices, and systemic exclusion from college opportunities. As the story unfolds, the students' bravery is met with resistance, intimidation, and even violence, but ultimately, their voices are heard and justice begins to be served.
