Sweet Land

In 1920, a young Norwegian orphan named Inge travels to rural Minnesota to meet her intended husband, Olaf, in a union arranged by their families due to World War I circumstances. Arriving in America, she faces hostility from the community, particularly over her German heritage and involvement with the American Socialist Party. As they struggle to be recognized and accepted, they find solace in each other's company amidst the challenges of farm life, ultimately leading to a deepening love that blossoms under the harsh realities of their situation.
