Carl Allen (Jim Carrey), a withdrawn bank loan officer, signs up for a self-help program that encourages people to seize every opportunity and say "yes" to everything. As he embarks on this covenant, Carl's life changes dramatically as he meets Allison, an eccentric young woman who becomes his unlikely love interest.
