In the autobiographical drama film Ahed's Knee, Israeli filmmaker Y (Avshalom Pollak) returns to his homeland to produce a film about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, only to find himself entangled in two doomed battles: one against the government's suffocating grip on freedom and another against the loss of his mother.
