Samouni Road

In the rural outskirts of Gaza City, a community of farmers, the Samouni extended family, is about to celebrate a wedding, their first since the latest war ravaged their lives. Amal, Fuad, and their loved ones have lost everything: parents, homes, and olive trees - all part of a neighborhood being rebuilt. As they replant and work to restore their land, they confront the daunting task of rebuilding their memories. This poignant film uses innovative animation and live-action techniques to capture the resilience and heartache of these young survivors as they piece together their past.
