The powerful and inspiring story of Andy Woodward, one of the first footballers to come forward with allegations of sexual abuse in the national game, is told in this British television film. Gerard Kearns plays Woodward, a gifted young football defender who attracts the attention of Barry Bennell, portrayed by Jonas Armstrong. The film follows Woodward's journey from being abused as a teenager to becoming a whistleblower, and explores the emotional pain of child sexual abuse without showing it on screen, thanks to the sensitive acting of its three leads.
