In a war-torn country slowly emerging from decades of conflict, a unlikely soundtrack emerges to clear out the debris of devastation: death metal music. In Huambo, Angola's second largest city, Sonia Ferreira and her boyfriend Wilker Flores bring together members of the Angolan hardcore scene for the country's first-ever national rock concert, using this intense form of expression as a path to healing and rebirth. Against the backdrop of bombed-out streets and mines, the film chronicles the efforts of these passionate artists to create music that unites a nation still reeling from war.
