Missile to the Moon

Two escaped convicts, Gary and Lon, are discovered hiding aboard a rocket by scientist Dirk Green, who then forces them to pilot the spaceship to the Moon. Dirk, who is secretly a Lunarian explorer sent to Earth by the dying Lunar civilization, wants to return home. The crew of the ship also includes Steve Dayton, his fiancée June Saxton, and their assistant, with none of them aware of the inventor's true identity. During the flight, they encounter a meteor shower that results in Dirk's fatal head wound, and after landing on the Moon, they are attacked by rock monsters and succumb to a mysterious gas.
