The Infernal Trio

In the darkly comedic 1974 film "The Infernal Trio," a series of gruesome murders unfolds in 1919 Marseilles, as a lawyer, his two lovers, and their accomplices become embroiled in an elaborate scheme of insurance fraud and murder. Based on the novel by Solange Fasquelle, the film follows Georges Sarret's lustful ménage à trois with Philomène Schmidt, her sister Catherine, and their dubious priest accomplice Marcel Chambon, as they profit from his life insurance and later swindle patients in a tuberculosis hospital. But when two of the trio fall victim to death, the remaining members must resort to murder to maintain their lavish lifestyle, leading to a chillingly comedic climax.
