In the 1974 Blaxploitation film "Savage Sisters," three female revolutionaries - Mai Ling, Jo Turner, and Lynn Jackson - find themselves betrayed by gang members in a corrupt Banana Republic, leading to their imprisonment. A tough cop and her boyfriend join forces with two of the women to escape from prison, hoping they can lead them to a stolen 1 million US dollars, which the women plan on keeping for themselves. With plenty of action and a dash of humor, this island-set thriller is an early example of "girl power" in Blaxploitation cinema.
