Callas Forever

The film "Callas Forever" (2002) is a biographical drama centered on Maria Callas' (Fanny Ardant) attempt to make a comeback by performing in a production of Bizet's "Carmen." The partially fictionalized film explores the making of this movie, with Callas' passion for music and faith in herself restored as she completes the project. As part of her comeback, Callas agrees to star in a screen adaptation of Tosca if it is filmed live, using her own voice, but ultimately cancels the contract when financial backers walk out.
