In the gritty and poignant "Mitt hem är Copacabana", four homeless children - Jorginho, Rico, Lici, and Paulinho - fight to survive in the harsh streets of Rio de Janeiro's slums. With resilience in the face of overwhelming poverty, they eke out a meager existence, with dreams of escape hanging precariously in the balance. When Rico, scarred by a brutal institution, makes the heart-wrenching decision to return there rather than perish outside, the film becomes a somber portrait of humanity's capacity for both hope and despair.
