Bernard and Doris

In 1987, Doris Duke, considered the wealthiest woman in the world, hires Bernard Lafferty as her majordomo. He is tasked with performing his duties without any problems, but despite their unlikely friendship developing over time, their situation slowly evolves into a more emotionally intimate relationship. As they grow closer, Bernard becomes more relaxed and starts to drink again, initially with discretion, but eventually in a way that begins to hinder his performance. Eventually, Bernard takes full control of Doris' life after her stroke, wearing her makeup, jewelry, and haute couture and affecting a more feminine demeanor, and is appointed executor of her massive estate before her death, a role he confidently fills following her cremation.
