Being There

Chance, played by Peter Sellers, is a simple-minded gardener who spends his whole life in the Washington D.C. house of an old man. When the man dies, Chance is put out on the street with no knowledge of the world except what he has learned from television. He wanders aimlessly, discovering the outside world for the first time, and meets Eve Rand, the wife of elderly business mogul Ben Rand, who takes him back to their palatial home to recuperate.
