Italiano brava gente

The film "Italiano brava gente" (1964) chronicles the unheralded and unsuccessful invasion of the Soviet Union by the Italian army during World War II. It follows the story of Colonel Sermonti (Andrea Checchi), an Italian soldier leading a regiment sent to Russia, as he and his comrades face harsh realities, including vast landscapes, challenging weather, hostile locals, mistreatment by German forces, tough battles, and strained relations with allies. The troops' morale crumbles under the pressure of war, and many of them meet tragic ends, including Libero Gabrielli (Raffaele Pisu) and Loris Bazzocchi (Lev Prygunov).
