Green Snake

In "Green Snake," Maggie Cheung and Joey Wong play two snake spirits who become human to learn about love and suffering. Vincent Zhao Wenzhuo as Fat Hoi, a Buddhist monk, discovers his own weaknesses and challenges morality when he encounters the snakes. The film draws heavily upon Buddhist beliefs of Saṃsāra and the cycle of reincarnation as White Snake falls in love with scholar Wu Hsing-Kuo's character, Hsui Xien, while her sister Green Snake envies her and yearns for human affection.
