In 1932, amidst the rise of militarism in Northeast China, three karateka - Taikan, Giryu, and Choei - face a company of kempeitai military police who seek to requisition their dojo for use as a military base. As they defend their home and way of life, they must also navigate personal struggles and come to terms with the meaning of their master's teachings. With no special effects used, this martial arts drama film shines in its authenticity, focusing mainly on the art of karate.
