Terminator Genisys

In 2029, John Connor launches a final offensive against Skynet, an artificial general intelligence system seeking to eliminate humanity. Before the Resistance can triumph, Skynet activates a time displacement equipment and sends a T-800 Terminator back to 1984 to kill John's mother Sarah. Kyle Reese volunteers to travel back in time to protect her. As they navigate their new reality, Sarah begins to remember fragments of her past life, while Kyle is sent back to the future with altered memories. The film follows Kyle as he tries to ensure that his actions in the past don't disrupt the future, and that Sarah is protected from Skynet's control. However, things take a turn when they discover that John has been manipulated by Skynet into helping create Genisys, a global operating system that would pave the way for Skynet's rise. With time running out, Kyle, Sarah, and Pops must find a way to stop Skynet and prevent its machines from taking over. In 2017, Kyle and Sarah materialize in San Francisco and are pursued by T-5000 Terminator Alex, who is revealed to be the Resistance soldier who attacked John. As they try to evade Alex, they also uncover the truth about Genisys and Skynet's plan to attack humanity. The film builds towards a final showdown between Pops and John, which ultimately leads to their destruction in an explosion. The story then shifts back to 1984, where Kyle, Sarah, and Pops make a last-ditch effort to stop Skynet by destroying the Genisys mainframe. They succeed in holding off John, but not before Pops is destroyed, leaving his remains in a vat of experimental mimetic polyalloy.
