In 1910, Horace Robedaux returns to his hometown in Texas to reunite with his estranged family members, including his sister Lily Dale (Mary Stuart Masterson) and his mother Corella (Stockard Channing). Following a long period of estrangement due to the bitter feelings towards his stepfather Pete Davenport (Sam Shepard), Horace seeks reconciliation.
