Rhymes for Young Ghouls

In 1976, a Mi'kmaq teenager named Aila plots revenge against the sadistic Indian agent who imprisoned her in a residential school where rape and abuse are common. The film takes place on the fictional Red Crow Mi'kmaq reservation and is based on the history of abuse of the First Nations people by government agents. Aila uses drug money to bribe the corrupt and abusive Indian agent Popper, who runs the school, to avoid being sent there, but when her money is stolen, she teams up with her father Joseph, released from prison, and a local resident boy to break into the school and steal money from Popper's office. Aila eventually seeks revenge against Popper, but ultimately reconciles with her father and finds redemption.
