In 1952's "The Turning Point", a special prosecutor John Conroy (Edmond O'Brien) and his cop father Matt (Tom Tully) are at odds over their differing approaches to taking down organized crime in Los Angeles, while a local journalist Jerry McKibbon (William Holden) finds himself torn between loyalty to his friend John and his attraction to John's girl Amanda.
