300: Rise of an Empire

Greek general Themistocles attempts to unite all of Greece by leading the charge that will change the course of the war against the massive invading Persian forces led by mortal-turned-god Xerxes and Artemesia, the vengeful commander of the Persian navy. The film is a sequel to 300 (2006), taking place before, during, and after the main events of the original, and is a fictionalized retelling of the Battle of Artemisium and the Battle of Salamis in the Greco-Persian Wars. Themistocles faces his own demise at sea, but ultimately rallies Greek forces to defeat Xerxes' army with the help of Queen Gorgo of Sparta. The film's action sequences, music, cinematography, visual effects, and performances all come together in a visually epic struggle between the Greeks and Persians.
