Carmen

"Carmen" is a 2003 Spanish drama film directed by Vicente Aranda, based on Prosper Mérimée's novella of the same name. The story follows José (Leonardo Sbaraglia), a young soldier who becomes obsessed with Carmen (Paz Vega), a beautiful and seductive thief. As their passion grows, José loses his rank and joins Carmen's gang, but their idyll is short-lived as jealousy, betrayal, and bloodshed ensue.
