In this provocative and visually striking film, the idyllic facade of a war veteran's home in Italy is shattered by his return from Africa with an unexpected gift: Zerbal, a young woman from a tribal king's daughter. Unbeknownst to him, his wife Alessandra has been harboring a secret affair with their frigid secretary Velma, fueling a cauldron of jealousy and tension that threatens to consume them all. As the boundaries between loyalty, love, and exploitation are tested, "L'alcova" plunges its audience into a world of colonialist fervor and racial prejudice, where the raw desires of its characters simmer just below the surface.
