The Final Girls

A group of high school students are transported into a 1986 slasher film called Camp Bloodbath, where they must fight off the film's maniacal killer in a battle of wits and survival. After their car accident kills one of them, Max's mother, Amanda, becomes trapped in the movie world, and Max is reunited with her three years later when she discovers she has been transported into the film as well. There, they join forces with other characters from the movie to try and outsmart the killer Billy Murphy and make it back home, but soon realize that their only hope for survival lies in becoming part of the movie's narrative.
