The Chicken

On an unseasonably hot day in November, Hiro (Junshin Soga) and his cousin Kei (Taiju Nakane) encounter a medical emergency on the street while showing Hiro's pregnant wife Anna (Sandra Maren Schneider) around as they prepare for their move to Chinatown. After mishandling the situation, Hiro decides not to butcher a live chicken for dinner, highlighting how their lives are complicit in structural violence that surrounds them.
