Only the Brave

In 1941, Japanese Americans were suddenly thrust into internment camps after Japan's surprise attack on Pearl Harbor. Determined to prove their loyalty, 1400 Japanese Americans petitioned the government to serve in the military, and 1,400 successfully enlisted in the 100th Infantry Battalion/442nd Regimental Combat Team. This unit became the most decorated of its size in American military history, earning an unprecedented 21 Medals of Honor, 9,486 Purple Hearts, and countless other awards for their bravery during World War II's European Theater of Operations. Their story is one of sacrifice, resilience, and patriotism.
